iOS 10 update - No longer working in car

Since the release of iOS 10, I have had the reoccuring issue of when I plug my phone into my car radio via lightning cable and play a target track that track will play for ~5-10 seconds. After that, the track will automatically switch to some other list of songs that first begins with a Cage the Elephant track. This issue ONLY happens while using the lightning cable to car radio. If I use the aux however this issue does not happen, but then I can no longer charge my phone while listening to the radio.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated! 😄
