[iOS][HOME PAGE LAYGOUT] Sudden Changes to Home Page Layout on iOS App

Issue

I opened up the Spotify App on my iOS device today and noticed the Home Page Layout has completely changed. My much preferred the older layout as it was easier to navigate and recommended a larger amount of artists. The Newer Layout has a 3x2 Grid of Albums at the top that were recently listened to (like the OLD UI) and then Large Blocks of Album Reccs Beneath the page.

I understand Spotify likes to roll out new UI for testing in certain users but I would much prefer to opt out of this practice if possible. 

Is there any way to change my Home Screen back to the old UI? This new UI is really bad in my opinion. I'm also not one to post in forums, so I'm pretty annoyed by this.

You can also submit your idea here so other users can also support it. The higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for it to be implemented.

Is there a way to opt out of this A/B testing that spotify does? Wouldn't it make more sense to have a setting that allows Users to test Beta Interfaces?

I find it strange the UI gets completely overhauled with no warning. 

Also, when can I expect the UI to return back to it's previous state?

I also got this UI on my iPad I was really shocked. I am really open on changing UI and usually I am the one defending UI changes but this is honestly the worst UI update I have ever seen. A big display ( capable of showing much relevant information at once) that is cluttered by 1 huge element that I can’t change or remove, is just useless.  If it’s an A/B test then please switch me to the other group. If this really becomes the new UI I probably won’t stay with Spotify.  I‘m sorry

Why change this screen? It greatly reduces choice and usability. Is someone simply justifying their position or was there demand for this. Please allow the option to use the old format.

This interface is completely pointless.  It significantly reduces choices and all of the analytics that makes Spotify so great.  I'd like to go back to the previous interface.

PLEEAAASE.... I want to change it to the old layout. This new one is terrible and it really makes me use the app less. And when I do use it, it makes my listening experience really less enjoyable. I also never really post on forums, but this really annoys me.

I’ve also got this new user interface. It is not useful in its current state.

Whilst the extra size of each section is welcome on a phone it’s a massive waste of space on a tablet.

How about adding a “See All” button for each section or maybe just add the ability to swipe to see other choices for each section?

Agreed with everyone else here - my app updated to this last week and I HATE it. Literally made a profile just to comment here because I can't stand it. It's ugly, it's clunky, and it takes away everything I like about the home page: a wide variety of options, what I've recently been listening to, and even curated playlists like the Daily Mixes. I don't understand the point of this update, tbh, and it's been incredibly frustrating to try and use the app since. I hope Spotify changes it back (or offers the option to change it) soon, because I am NOT a fan. Is this an attempt to make Spotify more like a social media app? Because that is not what I go on Spotify for, and it's not working.

One of the requirements of The Idea Exchange is No requests for complete roll-backs.

This update is so unnecessary that I can’t think of a way to fix it other than a complete rollback.

I have the same issue on my iPhone and now on my 12.9” iPad. I literally saw how the old layout disappeared and the new loaded in when I started the app. It is absolutely awful. Not only is the large display cluttered with only a few albums/buttons but also I am unable to find my daily mixes etc… most of all, why can’t I just opt out of those ridiculous test rollouts if I don’t want to participate. Not sure why I do not have an option as a premium user. Another huge blunder by Spotify and a similar trend I observe with the desktop app as well.

Oh man SAME I went on the app today and saw the old layout for a few minutes and was like nice they changed it back!! But just went on there again and it's back to this new layout that I can't stand. It makes the app so much less useful!!

Need help reverting back to old IOS app screen

Really not liking my new App Home Screen. Now there is a up and down scroll but no side to side scroll showing me new releases. Really disappointed. This just changed in the past two weeks and I really dislike it. Finding it very hard to find or be alerted to new music

anyone know how to revert back to the old view?

I have the same issue. I was told by Customer Support that it's a new change and can't be reversed. I've cancelled my subscription and will try out Apple Music.

I agree with everyone else; this change was not user-friendly at all, and I honestly found it extremely frustrating. Why would I want to scroll 7 times for something that was a swipe or two away before? Unless it's reverted back quickly, I'll take it as a sign of future negative UI changes and switch services.
