My Question or Issue

Hi,

I have Mazda 3 BL 2009 with Bose audio system. I have the car for several years and during this time both me and my girlfriend had like 5 different Android phones where everything worked perfectly. I just recently switched to iPhone and while I dont have any issues with connection and playing the music over the audio system via bluetooth, I cant skip songs from my steering wheel and play/pause button on the radio does not work as well.

Any idea what do to or is this a know issue? App version is 8.7.66.438.

Thanks!

Hi there @Karel90,

Thanks for the post.

Can you go into your iPhone's settings and make sure that the Spotify app is granted all Permissions. If some are not activated, this might be stopping the app from communicating with other devices properly over Bluetooth.

Keep us posted on how you get on.

Hi Alex,

thanks for you reply! It works with other bluetooth devices like my headphones for instance. However is there any list of required permissions for the Spotify iOS app? I checked the privacy settings and I dont see there any declined permission request from Spotify app either for bluetooth or any other category.

Hey @Karel90,

Thanks for the reply.

Could you check what Bluetooth protocol your car radio uses? Check the one on the iPhone as well. Maybe changing some settings there may bring us forward.

Let us know how that went,

Cheers!

Hi Dian,

reinstalled the app, rebooted the phone and gave all the permissions again. Also upgraded to iOS 16 in the meantime and it works. So dont have any idea what helped, but its ok now. Thanks.

Karel
