[iOS][Other] Improved Offline Playback

[iOS][Other] Improved Offline Playback

When I travel, I download music to reduce data usage and also because I go in and out of service (when driving). The offline interaction is missing key elements. For example, when in offline mode I should not see things that have not been download (artists, songs, albums). The fact I have to use a filter for “downloaded” while in offline mode is silly. Additionally, you can’t do multiple filters (show me everything downloaded by one artist for example). If I happen to have listened to a recent artist that I also have downloaded, that is the quickest way to listen to something. However, when interacting with carplay, the recently listened to does not trigger the audio to start which requires someone to interact with the phone to play music (not safe). Carplay seems to default to looking for an internet connection to play the recently played and can’t seem to find the music when downloaded. Also, the app is slow to respond when I’m offline mode, you get three circles for what appears to be a “loading” screen when trying to search but the information is already downloaded so it should be faster.

Hey there @tweakmod,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community! We moved your post from the Idea Submissions board since its content fits better in the help boards.

First up, keep in mind that you'll need to submit a separate idea for each one of your suggestions, as this is part of our Idea Exchange Guidelines.

You mention not being able to filter by artist when the app is set to Offline. While at the moment it isn't possible, you can filter by "Downloaded" and then look for the artist from the Search menu as a workaround.

Also, for the issue about the app being slow while Offline, would you mind letting us know if you've already tried any troubleshooting steps? This will help us give you better suggestions.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
