[iOS] iPhone: Songs won’t start

[iOS] iPhone: Songs won’t start

Plan: Premium

Country: USA

Device: (iPhone Xs)

Operating System

(iOS 14.6)

For several months now I’ve been running into this issue where I’ll select a song or playlist (either downloaded or not) and the song just won’t play. It will open to the song, but the playback won’t move past 0:00 on its own. Sometimes if I skip the song and then skip backwards again it will start, but not always. I’ve logged out and logged back in. I’ve deleted the app and redownloaded it. It’s unpredictable but happening probably 40-50 times a day for me now.

Hi @trevgills,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community!

I understand that you’ve tried reinstalling the Spotify app on your iPhone, and I would next recommend trying a clean reinstall; this is more thorough than a normal reinstall, and can be helpful to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

If a clean reinstall doesn't resolve this issue, can you try toggling Audio Normalization from the app settings?

Let me know how it goes, as well as if you have any other questions.

Have a good day!

I tried the clean install and it looks like it worked! Thank you so much!
