iOS skips songs after 40 seconds to unknown songs

I am new to Spotify and just downloaded it this week - April 2020. Spotify plays songs for about 40 seconds then skips to songs and playlists I don't even know. Never plays a song through. I've tried absolutely everything - signing out and back in, turning off and on, deleting app and re-downloading, clearing cache, etc., etc. Nothing works and I'm ready to quit Spotify, but I really don't want to. Can somebody help - Spotify!!!! You are the hardest to get an answer from as there is no direct way to ask a question, but have to rely on someone seeing a problem post and responding. Very frustrated at this point. 

This happens on both my iPad and iPhone. Seems to work on my husband's iPhone X

If you've come across playlists unexpectedly added to your Spotify, it'd be good to make sure no one is accessing your account in an unauthorized way.

For this purpose, it'd be great to bookmark and follow the steps in this support page article as well as this one since they feature some essential info regarding how to keep the safety of your account up-to-date.The steps in the first article under Passwords and Remove access to third-party apps are particularly good since they'll help you make sure no one is accessing your Spotify through any of your credentials or other online services eventually linked with your account.

It seems that when I enrolled in Spotify this week that my login was hacked, taken, whatever, and people in China and Egypt and who knows where were logging into my account and using it. Seems to be why I couldn't keep my own choice of music playing. So I changed my password, logged out everywhere and logged back in and it seems to be working.  

I almost closed my account completely because of this! Spotify need to take note to try and stop this. Not sure how as I don't understand any of it other than it's sooooo annoying.
