[iPhone] Downloaded artists (thus songs) not showing when offline

[iPhone] Downloaded artists (thus songs) not showing when offline

Device

iPhone 6s

Operating System

iOS 14.01

My Question or Issue

Steps to reproduce:

1) On my iPhone w/ latest Spotify app version (01/2021), I navigate to Your Library -> Artists

2) I intend to pick an artist for whom I have downloaded songs before, and play them

EXPECTED RESULT: I can browse a complete list of my 'liked' (followed?) artists and play those songs I have downloaded before. It used to work like this. Like always.

ACTUAL RESULT:  A screen reading 'Artists you follow will appear here' with a 'CHOOSE ARTISTS' button .

This is super bizarre - I have to go online first to refresh the lists of Artists -> then I can complete step 2) above. How do you want me to achieve this when on a plane, huh? I travel a lot and simply NEED offline music. Find it really absurd to have to justify that to you here - offline content is #1 reason I am paying for Spotify. I've been having issues w/ this feature over the past 2 months, am seriously upset and considering another vendor for streaming. Could not agree more w/ this chap - with every new release, I am more and more annoyed by Spotify.

Btw... it took me 15 min to find out how to post to Community. Eventually had to google that. You guys make every effort to make yourselves unreachable.

Hi there @ronnieb78,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

We'd recommend running a clean reinstall of the app, which involves deleting all app data. Note that you'll have to re-download your songs after this. Follow the steps from this Guide exactly.

If that doesn't help let us know if Artists and offline music is unavailable when you have no internet connection or straight when you switch Offline mode On.

Keep us posted on how you get on with this.

Cheers.

Thanks Alex the above steps seem to have done it. Thumbs up for your quick reply.

Got an another unrelated issue here - just checking bank statements and Spotify Premium charged me twice in 12/2020. Could you please point me to your representative who can address this?

Hi @ronnieb78,

Thanks for the reply.

Glad to hear that the initial issue is resolved 🙂

If you see double charges on your bank account, you most likely have two active Premium subscriptions. Head over to the Paying for multiple accounts? section in this Support article for more info on how to proceed with this situation and how to reach customer support if needed.

Hope this helps.
