iPhone app eating 6.5Gs of space.

Solved!

iPhone app eating 6.5Gs of space.

Hi all, hoping someone can clarify for me. Despite my efforts to play with the settings, delete unused playlists, etc., my Spotify iPhone app (newest version) is talking up 6.5Gs of space and I have nothing saved to the phone itself. My iPad app, on the other hand (and in which I never really use), only takes up 3.5Gs of space.

What's the deal?

Thanks!

Have you tried clearing your cache and re-installing the app?

Hi!

No, actually never thought of it. Is that something we should routinely do to clear the cache? Seems like a button within the app would be better for all.

I'll try it and get back to you.

Really appreciate it,

Steve

Ha, yeah--wow. Deleting the app, then reuploading it dropped the useage down to 132KB. Seems like a terrible flaw for the app to be storing all that useless data. No other app I have does so, including Sirius/XM, Goodreads, Oyster, and Flipboard. At least it could clear the cache every time the phone is restarted, or at best provide users a button to clear the cache.

Thanks for the help!

Glad I could help!
