iPhone not Showing in Devices

iPhone not Showing in Devices

Hi,

I just got an iPhone 5s (the 16GB version) and no matter what I do, I can't get it to show up in devices. My Win 7 PC is connected via LAN to the network, and my iPhone is on the routers wifi network. I've tried restarting, etc, and the firewall is allowing Spotify through. I've tried reinstalling the app, etc, etc.

It will sync all the songs on Spotify without showing up on my PC, but I'd really like my local files on the device. I've also tried plugging it into my computer also with no luck.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hiya.

Could you try the following steps to see if they will get your iphone to show under "devices" in the desktop client:

  • Make sure that your PC is connected to the router and not the modem (if they're seperate)
  • Enable UPnP in the router settings
  • Temporarily disable ALL firewalls, antivirus and other security programmes
  • Restart the router then your iphone

Tried all of those, still nothing. I had an old iPod Touch 4 that always showed up in the Device list, but that won't either . . .

Can you think of anything you may have changed when your ipod stopped showing up? In addition to those steps, try exiting spotify completely on your desktop and iphone. Reboot the router, then your desktop and finally launch spotify on your desktop and, when it has fully loaded, launch spotify on your iphone.

No, there's nothing I can think of. I'll try these and get back to you.
