iPod nano not detected by spotify due to lightning USB?

iPod nano not detected by spotify due to lightning USB?

I have a 7th generation iPod nano and I am trying to sync it to my desktop spotify program. I have looked many help forums where the lightning USB appears to not sync with spotify. I am very frustrated because I bought the iPod nano 7th generation because I want my workout playlists when I'm running due to the nano being so small. The whole reason I bought the nano is for spotify and now I have to redownload my 10,000+ song library to iTunes so I can use my iPod. Very frustrating please help/fix;(

Same problem here. Please fix this soon.

Not to be rude but is anything being done about this. I have no response. I would like to know if spotify has any plans to fix this. If not I will have to sell my iPod nano for less than I payed or it. Obviously my spotify premium account will be terminated as well.

Hey 🙂

This is a known issue, which is discussed here

I have raised this as a bug to the community team, so they are aware of this 😉

This has been moved to an offical bugs topic here

You guys need to get it together. If you want to charge for a service make sure it works! As a technology company you should understand the need for upgrades as well as the speed in which this industry moves. Thus ensuring your system can keep up with what is on the market. If your paid service isn't in line with whats on the market (majority market share) can you really ask people to pay? Step it up Spotify!

Not sure if this feature is even considered "current" anymore, since the downloads store was removed the iPod USB sync is almost useless, might as well just use iTunes.

i cant see my ipod in devices either and its the nano 7th gen. im in the same boat as OP. this is the only reason why i bought it uhh!!

Since you can only synch local files to a Nano anyway, you may just as well stick with itunes.

Hello,

Same as previous posts from a year ago : " it's currently not possible to sync latest-generation iPod Nanos that use lightning connectors"

Please be more precise about "currently" ? Have you made some progress ?? When will it be possible ?

Thank you

@lpparez There's no plans to fix this problem as you can't "download" or "Available Offline" songs from Spotify for your iPod Nano, unless you're using an iPod Touch (iPod Touch has an App Store to download the Spotify App)
For iPod Nano, Shuffle, Classic, Mini - Spotify acts as a music manager and only supports songs which you already have in YOUR COMPUTER ONLY it does not work with songs on the Spotify Catalogue (which is as good as dragging and dropping songs from your computer to your MP3 player) only, similar to iTunes.
More details and discussion here:
http://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-iOS-iPhone-iPad-iPod-Touch/Can-t-synch-to-iPod-3rd-generation/m...

And also, esp for iPod Nano - Lightning Connector connections will not be recognised as it is a bug, more details here:
http://community.spotify.com/t5/Bugs/Desktop-Nano-6-7th-gen-iPod-isn-t-recognized/td-p/245854

Since using the Spotify app for your iPod Nano, Shuffle, Classic or Mini is the same as using iTunes. iTunes is much preferred.

Thank you for your message.

I got your answer to use Itunes. As new iPods can't even be connected on Spotify, can I kindly suggest to REMOVE from the potential readers the suggestion to use an iPod ?

This causes an expectation and is a source of severe disappointment.

Best wishes !

@lpparez

I don't represent Spotify - but my best bet that the option is there so that old music players or those who've synced their iPods w/Spotify can still use the function with min interruption.. That's why it doesnt support the newer iPods.
