my IPod touch doesn't open,nothing happens,help me please!

I have Spotify Premium and every time I connect my iPod touch to my computer to move the music and nothing happens, it does not appear the IPOD DEVICES
I do not know the reason, already tried several times, please help me to solve this problem,
I do not have ITunes installed, this will be the reason?

And I do not know what it means IOS.....

my internet is by cable but use wireless for my laptop.

First things first, iOS stands for i-Operating System, and is the operating system ipod touches, iphones and ipads run 🙂

Are you connecting via WiFi or a USB cable?
