"Local Files"

"Local Files"

I originally downloaded spotify on my iPhone, and then again on my iPad. When I open spotify on my computer, there are many playlists and songs already there. I am trying to get the songs on my iPod, as I am a spotify premium member. It says only local files will sync and I have read all the information that describes why this is. What I want to know is since all my songs "came from my iPhone", what makes some of the files local and not others? Can I make all my files local on my computer so I can get them on my iPod?

If all of your tracks came from your iPhone, then none of them will be local files.

Local files are any tracks which you own on your computer, such as ones ripped from CDs or downloaded from iTunes. It is only those local files you can sync to a non-smart iPod.
