My Question or Issue

It is happened again, I have found old discussion from 2012 (9 years ago)

I have tried some times, maybe 10: every time after 1:48 the Spotify stops playing and the mark of current position moves to 0:02-0:03.

Update: it is happened when I use my headphones. If it just plays on iPhone there is no stopping. I have checked it with Beats Solo Pro and Beats Powerbeats High-Performance - the issue is reproduces with any my headphones. So it isn't headpones' issue.

What did I do:
1. I have update Spotify to last verions - doesn't help.

2. I have rebooted iPhone - it doesn't help.

3. I log out and log in again - it doesn't help.

Update 2: now it stops after just 0:48.

same thing happening to me...

Hi there folks,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

First we suggest that you perform a clean reinstall of the app. This will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.

In case you're using any battery optimization or power saving apps, you can deactivate them for Spotify. It's also important to make sure that there are no other apps running in the background.

Let us know how it goes.

Take care!

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

It was continuous all Thursday. But next day Spotify worked as expected. Did not do nothing special after I left first message here.

Hey @twoandmorechars,

Thanks for keeping us posted.

We're glad to hear that! If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.

Cheers 🙂

I am having the same problem. I have tried multiple solutions and nothing is changing the outcome.

I have:

- iPhone 7

- iOS 15

- Version 8.6.80.1180

- Spotify Premium

I have tried (but I still get the same crashing response):

- Uninstalling and re-installing.

- Only listening to downloaded music (I have even tried being online and offline listening to the same downloaded playlist).

- Checking my storage (I still have more than half available).

- Signing out of all accounts and signing back in only on my phone.

- Checked my Spotify settings (even checked background refresh).

- I did a soft reset to my phone

- Ensured that there are no background apps running AND no power-saving modes are turned on

This has been going off and on for the past 3 days, where it crashes and then I just have to restart Spotify, skip the song, and it will work again for a few hours. Today, it got worse. It won't let me listen to more than one song before it crashes. The best response that I have gotten, today, is that I can play through 3 songs before it crashes, only if I don't let my phone fall asleep at all.

Hey @yassylvsbooks,

Thank you for your post.

can you try a clean reinstall of the app? This is a more througout reinstallation, as you clear all app data.

You can also check if the operating system is up-to-date and Soft reset of the device

If that doesn't do the trick we can recommend that you check the phone's battery settings and make sure that Spotify is set as an exception if you're using the battery optimization option:

  1. Low Power Mode (Settings -> Battery -> Low Power Mode) needs to be off
  2. Background App Refresh (Settings -> General-> Background App Refresh needs to be ON for Spotify

If Background refresh is greyed out in the ON position, go To Settings - > General - > Background App Refresh - > Turn on the option for the system, and then you can turn on / off by app.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Cheers!
