spotify track time only going backwards

My Question or Issue

The track time on spotify used the show the full length of the song, like 3:56. Now it randomly shows a countdown until the song ends, such as -3:32 and I don't know how to switch it back.

Did you notice when this started happening for you and if it was after something specific (an update of the app for example)? 

It's worth performing some troubleshooting steps if you haven't already done any of them to test if they will make a difference. I recommend starting with a clean reinstall which also gets rid of any corrupted cache files which may be causing performance issues. You can take a look at this help article. 

Additionally, it'd be great if you could ask a family member or a friend to log in to their Spotify account on your device and let us know if the app behaves the same for them.

My Question or Issue

Used to be able to toggle between showing time remaining and total track time by tapping the time displayed at right end of timeline in Play window. Suddenly it’s only showing time remaining and can’t toggle it to show total track time. Started happening a few days ago.
