weird update notification in app

Solved!

weird update notification in app

hi: i know the update is rolling out today and isn't yet in the app store, but when i opened the app this morning i got the notifications about "try the new features now!". it seemed to suggest that i already had the update, but i confirmed that i do not, and that i don't yet have the features. why/how did i get this notification ahead of time? or was it just imprecisely worded (or i misread) and it was just telling me to get excited for this afternoon?

not that important, but i only ask i had applied to be a beta tester but haven't heard anything and had forgotten about it, but was crossing my fingers that this meant that maybe i am suposed to be beta and there's some way for me to unlock the features (i recently learned that some features are just hidden and can be pushed from the developer's end without me downloading a new version)

ios 8.1.2

spotify 2.2.0.2464

Correct, the feature was rolled out today from the Spotify server. No need to update the app.

If anyone else is having trouble getting the new update, try logging out of the app, and then log back in.

Nevermind. Features work now. Had to reset phone. And k realize I do already have the updated version. Still unclear how I have it without it showing as updated in app store yet though.

I believe the update was done internally with Spotify and did not require an App Store update. Glad you got it working!
