why can't I play music on two devices at once

why can't I play music on two devices at once

my dad has recently signed us up for Spotify family premium. but whenever I go to play a song at the same time that he is playing one, it then swaps devices and begins to play my music on his phone. I have the option of clicking continue or listen on this iPhone and either way it won't play on my phone! why can't I play two songs on different device at once!

Hey ellenmelon19! Welcome to the community!

To use Spotify Family everyone should have his/her own account, your dad can add family members by entering their e-mailaddress, everyone will receive an e-mail with a link to an invitation code. When you click the link, you can log in with an existing account, or have the option to create a new account. After that when everyone has finished that, the accounts are added to the Spotify Family and everyone will all be able to listen to your music uninterrupted and simultaneously

Have a great day and enjoy Spotify Family! 🙂

Many thanks for your reply. What happens to the playlist that I created under the original account. Can I move this across if I create my own account or do I have to start from scratch?

Thanks again

On your account click right on the title of the playlist and select 'Share' when you get the pop-up box click 'send to' and enter the username of your new account. You will receive the playlist in your message folder in the upper-right corner.

When you get the playlist, click it and then click on CTRL + A and then drag them to the New Playlist button in the lower-left corner. Then everything is set! If you run into issues, just let me know!

Have a nice day and keep rocking! 🙂

I am having this same issue. I have had all members set up their own accounts and they've accepted the invite with the token code from the email, but it's still only allowing one user to play at a time??? PLEASE HELP!

Hey @ckeimig! Thanks for reaching out!

That really shouldn't be happening... Are you sure everyone is logged in on their own account on all their own devices?
