My Question or Issue:
I recently got a new phone, a Galaxy S9+, upgrading from my old Note 5 which ran Spotify flawlessly. Now however, Spotify frequently either fails to load at all, or when it does work it is very severely slow and stuttering. It may also be important to mention I have a 250gb SD card in the device.
By saying won't load, I mean that upon starting up Spotify, the home page is simply completely blank, and even opening menus that should be locally saved (downloaded playlists, settings, etc) yields an infinite loading screen until I restart the app sometimes up to 10 times. Downloaded and locally saved songs frequently pause and stutter, and there's a minute on average between me pressing a button and that button reacting.
I've verified I have plenty of RAM available (2+ gb available out of 6), this problem persists on WiFi and while on 4G, and I have logged out/deleted cache/reinstalled countless times.
Has anyone experienced this or have a solution? Spotify is probably my most used app and I'd really prefer to not have to unsubscribe.
UPDATE/SOLUTION: For anyone else experiencing peculiarities with Spotify, or any other apps on a Samsung S9+, see if you are running the app in full screen mode. Apps that aren't optimized to run in this mode, such as Spotify can break in weird ways. Check this by going to Settings->Display->Full Screen Apps, and deselect whatever app isn't working.
