Yamaha HTR-4069, Allow streaming service on, connected via cable, fixed IP address (also tested DHCP and Wireless connection and performed a reset in the Yamaha app for the Spotify account settings).

Streaming via Spotify connect did not work with any device on the Yamaha. Error message on screen in the app: "Can't play this right now".
I tried every type of network connection on the Yamaha (wired/wireless/fixed IP/ DHCP). Finally got it to work on the iPhone by using Airplay after which Spotify connect also became available on that device. Android is still refusing to play ball. Updated every device, running v8.5.29.828 off the Android app on the phone.
Spotify connect does work streaming to other devices.
