My Question or Issue
I have a recurring issue that I've been unable to solve. I have Spotify linked to an Echo Dot via the Alexa app. I will ask Alexa to play Spotify and it will play. If I then control the music via Spotify Connect on any other device (iPhone, Apple Watch, Desktop app), the music will stop playing after the current song ends. Sometimes it will start playing on the device controlling Spotify, even though I never select that option. If I ask Alexa to resume playing, Spotify Connect will show that it is playing on the Echo, but there will be no sound. The only way to get it to play again is to reset the Echo. The sound on the Echo of course still works, just Spotify will not.
This happens no matter what device is controlling Spotify - i.e. phone or desktop, doesn't matter at all.
Things I've tried:
Unlinking/relinking Spotify to Alexa
Changing Spotify password
Doing a "log out all devices" from Spotify's website
Forcing an Echo firmware update
