I just accepted this email offer. Coincided with expiration of my 1 year plan. My profile has a strange email address and it won’t allow me to change it. Also, my Spotify App on my phone shows me on the free plan not premium. How do I correct se two issues or was the free trial email a scam?

We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the Music chat section to one of our Help boards as it fits better here.

 

That being said, you should be able to change the email linked to your account following the steps you can find in this article. Since you mentioned you can't change it, would you mind giving us more details of what's happening? Do you see an error when trying to change the email? Please send us as many details as possible.

 

Note: Be aware Community is a public space, so please don't share any personal info in your replies, such as username, email address, etc.

 

If perhaps you're an Apple user, keep in mind the Hide My Email feature lets you create unique, random email addresses to use with apps, websites and more, so your personal email address can stay private. It's built in to Sign in with Apple and iCloud+. You can read more about this service here.

 

Nonetheless, if you're not an Apple user and don't recognize the email at all, we'd suggest you secure your account. You can do this by following the steps in this article

 

Now, it's possible you've logged in into a different account from the one you regularly use. We suspect this, since you mentioned the details of your subscription are free on your mobile device. Keep in mind there are a few ways to sign up, e.g. with email, phone number, Facebook, Apple, or Google. If you use one of those options for the first time while trying to access the trial of the email message, it's possible you create a new account accidentally.

 

In that sense, and since you mentioned you'd like to verify the email offer is real, the best way to go would be to get in touch with our Customer Support team. They can help you check both your account and the email thoroughly. You can find out how to contact them here.
