Can't buy premium

Solved!

Can't buy premium

Hey all!

Need some help.

Since I wanted to buy premium here today its just sayed to me: Error, Please wait a while.

So I couldn't confirm my purchase.

That was what happened when used Chrome.

So then I tried out with Internet explorer, it say that I come from another country than my Mastercard is registered.

My mastercard are registered in Denmark, I am located in Denmark, country set to on Spotify is Denmark.

So can't really figure out what's wrong, any idea?

Hi,

1)

I seem to have a similar problem, in that the system won't let me pay for Premium.

I get the impression that its because my account has a UK registration, but my Visa card is registered in Germany. I originally registered with Spotify via a UK IP however I now live in Germany and use a German IP. However the system doesnt seem to recognise that Im now using a German IP and has a frozen (i.e. i cant manually change it) UK setting in my account. Furthermore when I take the initial steps towards payment the 9.99 Euro charge gets update to 9.99 GBP, which i assume is also a reflection of the problem. Please help so that I can finally get cracking with Premium.

2)

Ive also got a second question. Im having problems working out who has actually subscribed to my playlists. I get email notifications when people have subscribed to one of my playlists but 80% of the time these people dont show up on the subscriber list of that playlist on my profile when I have Spotify open. This is annoying as I would like to know who has subscribed to my playlists so that I can share further playlists with them in the future. BTW I also installed the Music Notifications App to this end but it seems to have stopped working.

Help and solutions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi ChrisH - Not to worry, we can help here.

1) When you go to upgrade and enter your card details you should see an option that reads "If you intend to use a payment method in another country, you need to change your country to match. Updating your payment details or method of payment will not activate, upgrade or extend your subscription."

Once you enter your German credit card details your country setting will automatically change. You'll then be able to upgrade as normal.

2) Right now we're making some changes to the subscription population method. You'll be seeing some changes in the near future once all the maintenance is done.

We've got another thread on this right here. I recommend keeping an eye on that page for updates.

Not working here in California!!

I am having the same problem tonight in the U.S. I keep getting an error message that says "no data received". I'd like to upgrade to Premium but its so frustrating and its not letting me so I guess I can't.

Marked as solution

BELDEGAR - I can see you were able to upgrade this morning. Are you receiving Premium on your mobile devices yet?

It's worth taking a look at this post if Premium isn't on your phone: http://community.spotify.com/t5/Accounts-Subscriptions-and-Music/Just-upgraded-Not-getting-Premium/t...

jennrussell82 - I can see you've successfully upgraded new payment details.

Please give upgrading another try using a different internet browser.

Tried again this morning and it worked just fine. Thanks so much for your help.

I tried out Spotify premium for 48hrs and now want to purchase it, when I go to the purchase screen and click on visa/mastercard it will not pull up the page where I can enter in my payment information. I have tried this on my personal laptop and my phone browser using my cell phone network so I am sure it is not a problem on my end... I'm purchasing this is United States so I am really confused why there is a problem...

lcphil0691 - Hmm, could you try deleting the cache and cookies from your browser and trying again? Should work a little better.
