My Question or Issue

When I try to connect to third party apps (such as lastfm or receptify) I log in normally on Safari, it goes smoothly until the “do you agree” page. I click “authorize” and then it tells me there’s an error. If I reload it tells me there’s a “Client ID” thing going on? What does this mean and how do I fix it, I really would like to connect to third party apps again and I don’t know what to do about this. Hey @SomebodyLOL 

 

You should try with a different browser, or open a private window (incognito mode), and see if that does it.

 

Also, try in a different device (computer, tablet, etc.)

Note: I'm not a Spotify employee.

A better answer is that Spotify has recently decided to block and stop all kinds of devices and services that users were using, and seemingly don't care that we were using them because they were helpful and useful. They have made multiple software-based speakers worthless in the last month. 

So the correct answer is "Spotify can't figure out how to make money off it so now doesn't allow it.".

Just like when they removed horizontal mode on my phone when they came out with whatever that failed Car Player thing was that would have only been useful back in 1993.

having this same exact issue, right now with lastfm but have had issues connecting to other apps.. this is ridiculous

In order for us to investigate this further, please let us know the following details:

  • If you're using any VPN services
  • The browser you're attempting this from (try Google Chrome if possible)
  • If this has worked before on the browsers it doesn't work from now and, if yes - when the issue has started occurring

It only ever happens on safari/mobile, i got it to connect through my computer and i use chrome there
