I can't edit my profile because the email is taken, even though I'm not changing the email

first edit your profile with some fake email and save it.
again without closing browser change your fake email address with real email.

You should ask for a password reset. That should give you access to your account again.

(Because you can't have two accounts with one email)
I don't have two accounts, I have one account using my email.
All I want to do is change my birthday and it won't let me because it says my email is taken.
Unfortunely, you just have two solutions :
1 You create a new account
2 You keep this account and don't change your bithday

If you're looking to update the date of birth on your account, you can do that here:
https://www.spotify.com/account/overview/, under 'Edit Profile'.
If this isn't working, we'd recommend trying in a different browser/incognito window.

I've had the exact same problem: I can't log in to my account because 'my country does not match the one in my profile' (for some reason it says I live in US...) So, when I go to change it, it now says I can't save changes because my e-mail is taken. Even though I have one account using that e-mail. Now I can't log into spotify.
Does anyone else know how to solve this?

You should try with a different browser, or open a private window (incognito mode), and see if that does it.

I'm also having the same issue.
On the Spotify desktop player (on Macbook Pro), I see Error Code 408 (Your country does not match the one set in your profile).
I go to https://www.spotify.com/us/account/profile/ to update my country and it asks for me to enter a postal code and that my e-mail is already taken.
I also tried using an incognito window and another browser but that did not resolve the issue. I tried Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
Same exact problem here. Spotify thinks I'm in Canada, and I'm not, which has screwed up my Family Account. I can't change this under 'edit profile' because 'We're sorry, that email is taken'. It would be nice if there was a solution to this.
Spotify thinks I am in the USA but I'm in Canada.
I found that I can still use the web player without issue. Only the desktop player is not working for me (and I haven't tried to use the mobile player yet).
I'm also getting this same error attempting to add a phone number to my account.
