Can't log in from windows 7 computer

I'm unable to log into Spotify from a Windows 7 machine.  I registered my facebook account with Spotify and that worked.  Then I downloaded the installer and when prompted to sign in, it just attempts to sign in for a long time and then goes right back to the log in screen.  It doesn't give me any error message.  Also it doesn't look like my firewall is blocking anything.  

Anyone have any ideas?

It finally gave me an error message with a popup so I could add a proxy.  Now I'm in!
