Can't log in with username

It seems I can't log into spotify with my username, which is supposed to be ReticentSoul. When I log in it has to be by the email. Even then, on the mobile app and the web page for spotify, it says this as my username :

but when I'm on the app on the laptop, my username shows as ReticentSoul even though I cant log in by typing in ReticentSoul. please help me out. I dont want to have to type in my email all the time to log in for spotify.

Hey @reticentsoul,

I just checked some things and saw that "ReticentSoul" is just your display name meaning it's not actually your username. Your username can be different than your display name.

You should always be able to log in using the longer username in your screenshot or your email address sometimes. 🙂

When I signed up it says that was my user name though. That extra long
username was never my pick. I chose ReticentSoul as my username

Did you sign up in the app? If so, was it on iOS or Android?

I used android app store. Nowhere there did It say that was just display
name and not user name.
