Can't update/change profile

Can't update/change profile

I am trying to update my profile - Set my region to Germany and change my gender to Male.

When I go into the edit profile page (https://www.spotify.com/us/account/profile/) it doesn't have an email or password populated.

The moment I put in my email address, that I've just signed in with, it tells me the email address is already taken.

I can't continue without entering an email. This is a problem, because I can't subscribe to a membership since my region is wrong and thus the currency is wrong.

Thanks for reaching out. That's odd.

 

I recommend giving it a try in another browser (preferably within an incognito window) and/or on another device.

Same thing.

I've tried the following browsers:
- Brave

- Brave (incognito)
- Safari

All of them give the same issue.

Thanks for getting back.

 

Can you please give it a try in another browser (preferably Google Chrome), since it doesn't have ad-/pop-up or tracking blockers by default?

 

If you continue to experience this issue, please share a screenshot of it while making sure that no personal info (like your full email address) is visible.

 

Also, if the account you're trying to update your country setting to Germany on a free account, you should be able to do that at https://www.spotify.com/account/profile/.

I actually solved the issue by changing my email to {email+spotify}@gmail and then changing it back to my usual email. That solved the problem.

Just bought the plan today

 

I cannot update my account info. When I am logged in and I go to Account Overview > Edit Profile.... When I put in the email and password as requested in that field > it says that email is already taken (This is my email that I used to sign into my account) 

 

What is wrong - why does it think Im in another account when Im in that account and why can't I update my account info

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

When you access your account page and hit the Edit profile button, you'll see some fields to fill in the information you want to change. Taking this into account, the "Email" section should be filled with the new email you want to use (and the current password), instead of the current email. You can find the process here.

Keep also in mind that if the email you want to use is already registered in a different account, you'll receive the error "We're sorry, that email is taken". In that case, we'd recommend trying with a different email address.
