Deleted Spotify App on Facebook, Now I can't access my account.

Deleted Spotify App on Facebook, Now I can't access my account.

I removed the Spotify app from my facebook account, not realizing I would no longer be able to access my Spotify account at all.  I had to re-enroll as a new user in Spotify.  When I search my name, I can find my old account and all of my playlists, but I have no idea how I can log in on that account again and access all of them.  I have Premium on my original account, so I don't want to pay for it on a new account, and I don't want to keep paying for it on the old one if I can't access it.

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

You will need to get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they will be able to lend a hand to get you back to your original account. The Spotify app on your Facebook account essentially acts as the bridge between your Facebook account and your real Spotify account behind the scenes, which is why the client can't seem to find your account when you log in after removing the app. 

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hello

I removed my Spotify App from Facebook, now it seems to have created a new accoutn in Spotify.

My Username was 11123432301

Hey I've emailed spotify multiple times (and replied to the no reply) and still haven't heard anything. Meanwhile i'm being billed for an unusable account. I created the account through a Facebook account (this was the biggest mistake) about two years ago. Because Spotify kept posting to my page despite my privacy settings on to avoid it, I deleted the spotify app from Facebook. That turned out to also mean goodbye to my spotify that I use when I click the desktop icon. After that when I clicked login with facebook nothing happened, and I had to create a new account to link with my Facebook. I did that and subscribbed to premium on it as well since it's important I have access to music offline. There was a day when I could go back to my recent activity on Facebook and see the playlists I had but I didn't save them. Now the recent activity is gone. My account is somewhere floating in Spotify Limbo and i'm paying for it still so it would be cool if you could help me get it back via credit card info or whatever methods you have. Thanks much.

 

ps.  I recommend if anyone links an account to facebook make it a new account you won't ever use.

I have just encountered the exact same problem!

 

I accidentally deleted the Facebook app while cleaning out other apps and when I logged into Spotify, it seemingly created a new acount and linked it with my facebook, blocking me out from my existing account. It was a PREMIUM account and suddenly there is no trace of it - Spotify.com, the mobile app and the desktop app ONLY acknowledges the newly created FREE account! I'm blocked from the product that I'm paying money to use!

 

Even though I know the username for the old one, I can't access it because it was linked to my facebook account upon creation and apparently can't be accessed even though the user profile can still be viewed when I search for it. My old profile was 1111039403 and the newly created one is 11160170874.

 

I have a pending request with customer service, but haven't heard anything yet - case #: 01919768.

 

I'm getting really desperate here!

When I redownloaded the spotify app on facebook it created a new account that, to put in intuitive terms, saved over my old one. So now I can't get the old one (but i'm paying for both)

I've had my case solved by the Spotify support team. I'm still shocked that Spotify is allowing accounts to be so dependent on facebook that they can become inaccessible and broken if there is an issue with something as unreliable as a facebook app and that it is impossible to sever the spotify account from the facebook account. I deeply regret signing up with facebook 2 years ago when I first started using Spotify.

@Joey_Bowie - I'm with you on this one, I have hated the Facebook logins since they brought them in!

Same deal as the others...

 

I have 2 accounts now because I deleted the original FB app.. I want my original account back which I can't seem to login to because it only recognizes the new account. My original account is free trial/premium and has all my music and playlists on it. I desperately need the most recent account(12162174142) deleted and my original reinstated(12154028539).

I have the exact same problem.. I deleted the spotify app on facebook and now i have this second "non-premium" account and don't have access to my old account..

My account was 1151272425 case nubmer # 02048478.

@user-removed - If you could reply directly to the automated email reply (don't open a new case) which contains the case number that will bump your case over to an adviser who can help asap.

I have this problem for many months now (since May 2014). I have contacted the Spotify support already but they are still taking my money for an account that is not accessable for me. All my playlists are on this account and I am still getting emails about new songs and friends posting something on spotify but I don't have any access to the account. I am desperate because it's so many months now and I still did'nt get help. Also I wrote an Email to the support to delete my account and stop charging me for the premium but I did not recieve an answere. How did you guys get help with that?
