Device Password Email not being sent

Device Password Email not being sent

Hello,

I originally signed up with Spotify using my Facebook credentials.  I would like to sign into Spotify on my streaming device.  I have used the Device Reset Password functionality from my account multiple times, waited a few days, checked spam filters and never received the password email so I may log into Spotify on other devices.  Please help.

Hey there! 

 

Since your account was created via Facebook, the two are connected and one can't exist without the other. 

 

The password for your Spotify account is the same as the one for your Facebook. If you'd like to change it, you'd need it to do it through there.

 

You can also set up a device-specific password, so you don't have to use your Facebook one.

 

It's quite simple, all you'd need to do is head to your Facebook Settings > Security > App Passwords > Edit > Generate Password.

I am trying to log into spotify on a different device. In the spotify
account settings, there is a section called 'Set device password'. It
states that to use Spotify on your devices, you need to set a separate
password and log in with the username provided. My device username
is: 1220984891. There is then a large green button to click 'Send email to
set password'. If I can simply use my facebook password and the device
username it would be helpful if that was explicitly stated on this page.
It makes it seem that I need a different password in order to log into a
device to access spotify.

Oh, OK!

If the email is not being sent after clicking after clicking the 'Send email to set password' button, we'd recommend following the steps mentioned before to set the password through Facebook.

I have tried logging into spotify using my facebook username and the generated password from settings -> security -> generate password.  I have tried logging in using my facebook username and my facebook password.  I have tried logging in using the device username from my spotify account -> set device password and my facebook password.  No matter what combination I enter, I can't log into spotify from my squeeze box account.  This is very frusterating.

Are you seeing any error messages?

If so, send over a picture of this.

It's also worth a shot trying to log in using a different account.

This is exactly what I am encountering.

 

My login is via Facebook, but when I follow the steps for the "Set Device Password" I get my device username fine.

 

However the Email is not being sent to my email account to set the password.

 

Is there someone I can talk to directly to get this problem fixed?
