Downloaded Music

Downloaded Music

Can someone explain what 'Note: You do need to go onto the internet at least once every 30 days to maintain your offline music settings.' actually means?

I'm very close to cancelling my Spotify account as my downloaded music keeps dissapearing. I use Spotify frequently when I'm online, so I don't see how I'm not fulfiling this criteria.

Google play music doesn't do this, so I'm very close to switching.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Hey @jimbogreen!

Welcome to the community and thank you for reaching out to us.

The reason why Spotify needs to go back online every 30 days, is just to update the play count. That way, we're able to calculate the correct royalties.

If your downloaded music keeps getting deleted, you might have a duplicate offline device. This means that two cache memories were created for the same device and Spotify gets confused.

Try deleting your offline devices and reinstalling Spotify to troubleshoot this issue. However, if it happens again, we suggest contacting our Support team via Twitter or Facebook.

Let us know how it goes.
