Hello,
when im trying to edit my profile under the email it says ''We're sorry, that email is taken.'' even though im not changing my email addres.
FYI
i had problems with my account. i couldnt log in to my account and when i tried to reset the password it said that the email is not in use, not registered.

Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble updating your profile information.
Let's try clearing your browser's cache and cookies or using an incognito window to try again.
As a last resource, try using a different device altogether to see if it helps.
If you get the same error message, let me know exactly what information from your profile you're trying to update.

I have the same problem, but I can't post because of an error with the verification system. I tried both of your sugestions and I'm still encountering the problem.

im trying to change postale code, gender, birth date, country...
can u just delete my user and i will reregister? because i had problems from the start with my account and mybe this will sorte it

Just to confirm, when you log in here, do you see the email address linked to your Spotify account? If so, let us know if you have access to the one on file or if it's an old one you can't use.

yes when i log into there i see my email linked to the account, and i still have access to this email.

In this case, you can follow these steps to close this account. Once the account is closed, you'll be able to create a new one from scratch using the same email address.

Its been 6 years since the question was asked, i had the same problem but I cleared it somehow.
Basically I just added an additional "m" to the end of my email id- ....@gmail.com
It was saved, I then logged out and then logged back in using the email id with the extra m. And then went on to change it back into the original email id, without the extra m.
And yh, worked out somehow lol
