Error when changing way of login

Hi everybody!

I forgot my password and I deleted the e-mail  I used for Spotify years ago, so I cannot recover the password vie e-mail. The solution I came with was to change the way of loging in, so I was trying that to be able to login using my Gmail, but a message of ERROR kept appearing. 
Is there a way to login or to change my passowrd without needing my old password or my old email?

Thanks for reaching out. Not to worry, we'll be glad to help you get back into your account. 

In any case you will need to have a valid login method on the account to always have access to it. If you're still logged in on some device, you can go to the account page and update your email address to an active one. You can even add alternate login methods to have as a backup such as Facebook.

When you say you get an error, does it appear when trying to log in or when trying to update the details?

Let us know how it goes.

Hi, I have the same problem too, I am using Chrome and when I use desktop app to "edit login", it prompt to open Chrome and no matter which way I choose to change my login, it has a red box says Error, try again.

Since I am only using FB to login and I forgot my FB login detail, I really have trouble adding login accounts when this error keeps promping up!! What is the solution please?

Thanks for reaching out. 

Consider trying this in different browsers if possible. You should be able to do this by setting them as default. If you happen to use a VPN, disable it as it can interfere with communication.
