So. Weird problem I’ve noticed for awhile, it happens every so often. I’ll be on shuffle for my liked songs, and randomly a little “glitch” would happen, but I didn’t think much of it. I then started to realize what was going on, so I would screen record when it happened.
What happens is when I’m on shuffle, a random Frank Ocean song will pop up for a split second, and continue through my shuffle. I don’t have a single song added from him, nor do I listen to him or those songs. This continues to happen, any fix?
Since I can’t upload videos of my screen recording, listed are YouTube videos of what I see. You can see what happens if you watch in slow motion.
Hey @Brady55,
Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.
Since it could be a temporary error, would you mind trying each of the following steps?
Log out and back in.
Check your device's operating system is up to date.
Reinstall the app and restart your phone.
Note: After reinstalling, you'll need to redownload any music you've made available for offline listening.
We'll look out for your reply and be here to help with anything else as well!
I just did those steps, will let you know if it happens again
Hi there! It was gone for awhile, but it just happened again. Same issue.
Hey @Brady55,
Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
Could you try it out on another device and let us know if the issue comes up there as well? If you could use a friend or family members account on your iPhone let us know if the song pops up there the same way. These troubleshooting steps help help us determine whether the root cause of the problem lies with your device and the installation files or the account itself.
Keep us posted if you have any questions.
Have a nice day!
Hey there. So I kind of forgot about it, and the issue would still occur. So anywho, recently I turned off the hidden songs feature... I scroll through my liked songs and find a whole album of Frank Ocen songs. I never even liked his album or songs. Why are they on my liked playlist? Is this some sort of scam to get his download counts up? What’s going on with that?
Hey @Brady55,
Thanks for posting.
Let us know if this continues after removing the album from your Liked Songs. In this case it's also a good idea to go ahead and secure your account using the instructions in this Support Page. Don't forget to change the password for any service associated with your account, such as your email address, Facebook, or Apple.
We recommend that you also have a look at all third party apps that have access to your Spotify account and remove any you don't recognize. You can learn how to do this here. For the other ones you should update the login info as well.
Hope this helps. Keep us posted.
Does it still happen to you? If so, check if Spotify detects two devices connected to your account. The same thing happened to me and Spotify was detecting a device I don't own, along with my computer.
