I have 2 Spotify accounts and want to merge them into one account

I have 2 Spotify accounts and want to merge them into one account

My main Spotify Free account I've had for several years is with my email hotmail.co.uk and on my Windows 10 PC. Spotify is always Logged In.
I've recently added Spotify to my new mobile Google Pixel 8A and set up a new Spotify account. I realise now a mistake! It is with my email gmail.com
What procedure do I need to follow to have my long-standing Spotify account on my PC appear on my Pixel mobile? - I could change my Spotify account email Hotmail to my Gmail address if that would help to start with.
Thank you. John-R17

Hey @John-R17,

Thanks for reaching out & congrats on the new phone! May it serve you well.
As for the new account that you've created, you can simply log out of the mobile app (tap on your profile picture and go to Settings -> Log out) and then log in with your hotmail email address! 🙂

If you can't remember the password to your Spotify hotmail account but you do have access to that email address' inbox, you can also reset your password. After this is done, use the new password to log in to both devices.

Note: You can either leave the new gmail account be or you could also close it by following the steps here. Just make sure you're logged in with the gmail account when doing so to avoid accidentally flagging your main account for deletion.

Hope this helps! We're here for you in case any questions arise 🙌🏼

Vasil - Thank you for the promt reply with simple instrutions to follow. I have logged into my mobile using my User hotmail and password which I thankfull found. I'm now listening to some of my favorite music from that account on my mobile bluetooth link to my blutooth audio speaker. Lovely!
I had quite a problem Deleting the gmail Spotify on my mobile. Due to system not accepting the password I'd written down. However I ticked sign-in with Google and it got me into the gmail Spotify imediately. So I was then able to follow the instructions to Delete account.
I feel inclined to change my email address on my hotmail Spotify to my gmail address. My mobile is Goole Pixel 8A and I'm a Google One Member. I will leave for the 7 day Spotify cooling off period before I do the change of email. So as to save any complications.
Do you see any advantages or disadvantages of making the email change from hotmail to gmail on my Spotify account?
Thanks again

Hey there @John-R17,

Thanks for your reply.

So, keep in mind that to be able to use the same email address on a different account, you'll need to wait 14-30 days from deletion for it to clear from the old account.

On another note and just to clarify, the email confirmation you received when you agreed to close the account, contains a link which allows you to restore your account within 7 days from the date of closure. This means, those 7 days are the time frame you have to restore the account, but not the email to be freed up.

Lastly, as per the change of email, it's entirely up to you 😄 The advantage of being able to change the email linked to your account is based on the fact that you may over time lose access to it. If you use both your emails, you won't need to change unless you find it easier to use Gmail more.

If you wish, you can link your existing Spotify account to Google by following these steps. Note that you'll need to wait until the new account is completely deleted to proceed with it.

Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.
