My Question or Issue

 

My music keeps stopping - after I play a song and Spotify goes onto the next one, it will stop stop playing 0-10 seconds into the song and I have to close the app and reopen it to make it start playing again. It does this with both downloaded and not downloaded music. Sometimes it’ll play a couple songs before stopping, sometimes five or six. 

I’ve tried playing Spotify from my iPad, but then my iPad started doing the same thing. I’ve tried turning my devices off and on again and clearing memory space on the device and in the iCloud but this has been going on for a couple weeks.

This issue could be related to your devices or account. We have a couple of troubleshooting steps which can help narrow down what might be causing it.

 

Can you try the following:

  • Log out Everywhere.
  • Run a clean reinstall of the Spotify app, removing all app data/ cache before reinstalling. You can follow this Guide. Note that this will remove your offline music downloads. Do this on one device at first.
  • Make sure that your device's OS is fully up to date.
  • Make sure that Background App Refresh is switched On. From your iOS settings.
