Hi there @Le0qz,
Thanks for your post here in the Community and welcome!
You can actually select the public playlists that show on your profile. To do so, go to each playlist > select the 3 dots > Add to profile or Remove from profile (if it's already on it). You could check that.
Additionally, if you recently made changes, try logging out and back in twice in a row to re-sync the info.
If there are playlists that are public and have been added to your profile, but are not displaying, you could try searching your profile from another account, or ask one of your friends to check and send you a screenshot of what they see to check which are the playlists that are not showing.
Let us know how that goes.
I tried that and it's not working
Hi @Le0qz,
Thanks for your reply.
Did you try all the steps we sent? To check, send us a screenshot of the playlist that is not showing on your profile, and a screenshot or recording of the playlists that are showing on your profile. You can attach it in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public, so we can visualize it.
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Yes I've tried them all, and all of my playlists are not showing.
Hey @Le0qz,
Thanks for the reply and the screenshots!
Could you also send us a screenshot of the context menu of a playlist you wish to publicly show on your profile?
To do so, from the sidebar, right click on the playlist in question and send us a picture of the menu you see:
As @Susan_GP has mentioned, make sure the playlist is set to Public and Added to your profile.
When this is done and confirmed and the playlist's menu shows only the Remove from profile and Make private options, see if it can be seen when your profile gets viewed from a different account. In case the issue remains, we'll do our best to look further into this.
Many thanks! We'll be on the lookout for your reply 🙂
I don't have the option of make private, and I'm not sure why. I tried seeing if it was public on my other Spotify accounts and told my friends to see if it's showing, but they said no and I didn't see it either on my other accounts. It's not just one playlist, It's all of the playlists I've created through this year
Hi there @Le0qz,
Thanks for the screenshots!
It appears that you're using the Web Player where this option isn't available - in general it has limited features in comparison to the app. I recommend using the desktop or mobile app in order to make the playlist public and add it to your profile.
Hope this clears things up ✌️
I tried using the app as well, I didn't see the option either?
Hi again @Le0qz,
Thanks for the update.
Can you let us know what device you're using? It's worth trying this out in the mobile app instead of the desktop app to double-check if you have the option there. You can also send us a couple of screenshots of what you see when you try to edit the playlist in the app, so that we can have a closer look.
We'll be on the lookout for your response.
I'm using a Dell computer laptop. I don't use Spotify on phone because I don't have it.
Hey @Le0qz,
This too seems like it is a screenshot from the web-based version of Spotify.
Try downloading the desktop app from here instead. The options you're looking for should become visible after you log in 🙂
Hope this helps! Keep us posted 🙌🏼
Still doesn't work
Hi @Le0qz,
Thanks for keeping in touch.
That's odd, you should get the option to Make public/private from the desktop app. So we can check the options you get, send us a screenshot of the options you get from the context menu on playlists (the three dots) from the desktop app.
On another note, would it be possible for you to try from a different device? We understand if you don't have the app on a mobile device, but maybe you can try logging into your account from a relative or friend's mobile device and check if you get the options from there.
We'll take a look!
I only use one device for everything, and I don't have any friends at the moment anymore. Apologies for the late replies. 🙂
Hey @Le0qz,
Thank you for keeping in contact and for the screenshot you attached.
It's odd that the desktop app doesn't show the option to make the playlist public yet. Taking into account that this could be the main reason for the issue, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app in your computer by following this process to clear any damaged cache that could be affecting the proper behavior of the app.
If you still don't have the option after that, we'd recommend clearing any entries which contain Spotify from the host files on your computer. To do so, you can follow the instructions mentioned in this post.
Lastly, include in your next response the OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.
We'll be on the lookout.
I tried that a while ago without realizing it and nothing changed. I don't have either Windows nor Mac to do anything such as told in the article. Though Spotify has an update which I'm sure you perhaps know so I'm not sure where the "Three dots" are with the new update now, and also Spotify updates on its own for me.
Hey @Le0qz,
Thank you for your message and for the info shared.
If you have a different OS on your computer (like Linux), the experience may differ from our other Spotify Desktop clients, such as Windows or Mac as the Spotify app is officially supported on those systems. So in this case, we'd suggest waiting until you can access from a mobile device (or a Mac/Windows device) in order to change the playlist privacy to public.
Also, we've passed this info internally already, but we don't have a specific date for this to be resolved. We'd recommend having your Spotify app updated, so you don't miss any improvements coming your way.
We appreciate your feedback. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.
