Premium Subscription but not getting premium service

Premium Subscription but not getting premium service

I just signed up for the Premium service but I still get ads. I see an Upgrade button in the player but when I click it, I'm only given the option to sign up for the FREE 30 day trial...which has ads! Grrrr. Is there any way around this? Do they force you to listen to ads for 30 days before they allow you to actually PAY for the Premium service? This is extremely frustrating...Spotify seems awesome, but the commercials SUCK!!

Can anyone out there please tell me if there is a way to resolve this?

Thanks!

Hey @cyprogirl14 ! Welcome to the community 🙂

There is no adverts of any premium or unlimited subscriptions, so something is not quite right.

I would suggest you have a read at and try the steps outlined in this post and see if they can get you up and running?

Thanks for responding Peter. Yes, something is definitely no quite right with Spotify. It's a great service but there seems to be lots of bugs. I read the post you suggested...I even tried a clean reinstall, but I still can only get the 30-day free trial....WITH commercials. It seems that no matter WHAT I try to do, I'm going to have to endure 30 days of commercials. Uggghhh. Maybe they intend it to be this way, and there's no way around it, but it sure would be great if there WAS a workaround as those commercials are SUPER annoying, plus I'm unable to download anything, which is one feature I would really like to use.

This all seems pretty amazing to me...I mean, I'm totally willing to pay them $9.99/month....but they don't offer me a way to pay them! Perhaps they're making so much money from advertising revenue, they care more about that then they do allowing someone to override the 30-day free trial.

I'm still open to suggestions though so if anyone out there knows how to get around this, I'm all ears!....er, eyes!  🙂

Thanks.

You definitely won't get any adverts (audio or visual - apart from on the Browse and Discover pages which can be turned off in the settings) on Spotify premium, even if it is a trial.

What does your subscription status on your online overview say?
