Publicity on podcasts

I’m receiving spotify publicity when I’m listening podcasts on my premium account. The reproduction of the podcasts stops, starts a publicity gap and then I’m back to the podcast I was listening to. In more than 2 years it never happened before but last week it started happening. Why has this been changed or is there a problem with my premium account?

While the Spotify app doesn’t play ads that interrupt the music listening experience of Premium subscribers, some podcasts on the platform may include third-party advertising, host-read endorsements or sponsorship messages in their episodes. There’s more info about this here.

Hey,  I am experiencing the same issue.

I understand host-read sponserships.

However, I don't understand how the podcasts episodes can get interrupted by a third-party advertiser that has nothing to do with the podcast, while having a premium membership. One of the main reasons I pay for a premium account is to listen to music and podcasts without interruption.

The advertisement I receive is not related in any way to the podcasts; I listen to American based podcasts while I live in Belgium. The advertisement is Belgian based.
Is this considered normal for a premium account?

This is a third-party advertiser that has nothing to do with the podcast. One of the main reasons I pay for a premium account is to listen to music and podcasts without interruption.

The advertisement I receive is not related in any way to the podcasts. It’s aggressive marketing, the sound volume is higher and the content is totally unrelated to the podcast. 
sorry but this is outrageous and if it continues makes no sense to carry on withy subscription. No algorithm is worth this invasion.

Thinking about stopping using Spotify. I think it is unbelievable that I have to listen to ads if I want to listen to podcasts. I’m paying to use Spotify with no ads, no just music. I hope Spotify reconsider this. I will raise my voice everywhere so more people raise their voices against ads because of podcasts. No excuses. I had enough.
