My Question or Issue

I have now spoken to 6 support agents, gone through the Reddit Tech Support Discord, and scoured the internet. I'm going insane here.

Recently I had Spotify close suddenly on me and anytime I tried reopening it I would get a gray and black window like Spotify wants to load in but hasn't loaded icons, text, etc. yet but then it immediately closes after 2-5 seconds. Once in a while it will show the media player at the bottom and Home / Search on the left side before closing.

I am unable to get anywhere when I open the program unless I uninstall it, at which point it loads and prompts me to login. When I choose to login to my account and am redirected back from my web browser to the app, it immediately closes. If however I login using a DIFFERENT account than my original one, it loads in just fine. I've tried this with a new account I made and the Spotify support test account and they both worked fine.

In addition, my original account works fine on the web player, my iPhone, my girlfriend's laptop, my laptop, and her Desktop. It just wont work on my desktop app. But other accounts will.

So far I have tried the following although I'm sure I am missing some things I've tried:

-Reinstalling the program
-Clearing the Cache through the program (through test account)
-Clearing the Cache manually
-Flushing the DNS
-Checking the host.txt file for extra host lines
-Downgrading and Upgrading my Account (Duo > Free > Premium)
-Changing my email and password
-Clearing my browser cache / cookies
-Running CCleaner and even Auslogics Disk Defrag

I've tried reinstalling and doing other things without rebooting, with rebooting, and more. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling via Safe Mode and that still didn't work.
What's even stranger is now Spotify doesn't even show up as an installed program under my Firewall. It just isn't there, despite being installed.

I need some help here. I'm going nuts trying to get this to work and nobody so far has been able to provide ANY support at all.

Hey @1281580060 ,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Community.

I appreciate you posting all the steps that you've already tried to solve this and I'm sorry to hear that you're still experiencing difficulties using the app.

If Spotify's Customer Support team have picked up the case, then I'd recommend that you check if you have unread email from them and follow the steps provided in there. 🙂

If the issue is account related - it's best to continue your conversation with Spotify Customer Support since, unfortunately, we (the Community) can't make any account related actions here in the Community as we don't have access to the necessary systems and tools to help you further.

Hope this clears things up 🙂

Hi there. That sounds similar to trouble I had using Spotify on my Android phone a while back. What eventually helped was getting more storage; in my case, getting an SD card. Perhaps your desktop storage capacity is insufficient?

Good luck!

I am having the same issue, was this sorted? Please I am going crazy trying to sort this.
