As long as you have an active premium subscription, you can listen to spotify in any country in the world. It doesn't matter that spotify hasn't launched in the country so you'll be fine in the Ukraine (as long as you stay away from Krym).

ITS JUST UKRAINE! DITCH THE "THE" ALL UKRAINIANS HATE THAT!!!

Oops, sorry. I'll remember that 🙂

I did know that, but it is an interesting point. Wonder were the bad habit came from? I've seen "the Ukraine" in so many places across the web lately!

I'm Ukrainian and I can't say that I hate when someone says "The Ukraine", it just sounds a little bit unusual. But for sure there is no problem with that 😉

Hello infact no. I have an account from the states, but now live in Ukraine as well. The desktop app is okay for now, but both my phone updated spotify and I cannot install the app again. Spotify tells me that it is not available in the country I am in. Any idea how to solve this.

Hey, I am Ukrainian as well and have been working with the British for a while. I also noticed that a lot of them use "the" when mentioning Ukraine. I found the following explanation for this (backed by few BBC articles afterwards): it's our lingering legacy from Soviet times, because it used to be Ukranian Socialistic Republic, and the "the" part was used to express the fact that it belonged to a bigger unit - USSR.

Also, another possible explanation (only if you are British 🙂 -- "the Ukraine" sound similar to "the UK", which the British people of course have got accustomed to.

Anyways, looking forward to using Spotify in Ukraine! Can't even pay for it with Ukrainian card, and I am too lazy for going through all the trouble of using web pament services.

I think your caps lock key is stuck.
