Unable to login to Spotify app on a Roku TV

Unable to login to Spotify app on a Roku TV

Trying to setup Spotify on a Roku TV - TCL Series 8.

I've gone through the pairing process with the code and website. I am able to see my profile at the launch screen within Spotify. however, when I click on it to log in, I receive an error message that it is unable to log in to the account. 

I removed the profile, went through the pairing process again, all with the same effect. I can see my profile within the app, try to select it, unable to login...

Any suggestions? Internet is fine, I am able to stream using other services just fine.

Could you try restarting your Roku TV? If you're not sure how to restart your TV, follow these steps

 

If that doesn't work, reply here with a screenshot of the error message you're getting when you try to use Spotify. Make sure to hide sensitive information when posting to the Community.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I went back to the app and tried logging in again before restarting the tv, and it was successful. I did not perform any additional steps. So I don't have much to add beyond 'it just started working'.

I am having this exact same problem and i have done all the steps mentioned already, still not working, ran out of ideas of what to do next to get this working.
