Username is string of numbers and letters, but it's fine in Community?

Username is string of numbers and letters, but it's fine in Community?

I recently made this new Spotify account since I know it's impossible the change your username otherwise (I know you can connect to Facebook, but I don't have one). I entered the new username I wanted it to be on mobile, but when my account was all set up, it was a string of numbers and letters. I logged into the new account on desktop and it was numbers and letters there as well. I figured it must've been some "new account" type thing and I do know that supposedly it's numbers and letters to keep track of data so I let it be, but it's been a while now and it's still that same string.

I changed my username here on this Community thing to see if that was the problem, but it doesn't seem like that's the case. Basically the username is what I want on here, but actually viewing my account on the mobile and desktop app has my user as numbers and letters.

I don't remember any of this kind of stuff happening with my old account either, as far as I recall when I made that account it was the user I entered from the get-go. I know this isn't really a big deal, but I just want my new user to be what I entered, y'know?

I don't know if this can be solved, but I would still appreciate any kind of help. (I also apologize for any weird or awkward wording in this, I'm autistic. I'll try to elaborate further if need be.)

Hi there

Please check out this link below. It should explain quite abit of usernames. And yes, community is separate from spotify itself.

Let me know if it helps!

Cheers!
