Won't let me change to my existing email

  I recently logged into my account on my phone after only using Spotify on my laptop for a while, and therefore have been using it more often. I wanted to log in to other websites that linked to my Spotify account - specifically Superfan - but ran into an error when it sent me a confirmation email I did not receive.

 

  It turns out that when I was originally setting up my account, I seem to have abandoned that very original one that I logged into with the email I currently use - and my current Spotify account is logged into an email address with a slight variation on the same thing. I went back and deleted the first account which I thought would then free up the email address, however when I went into my account settings to change it, it said that the email was attached to another account. 

 

How should I go about fixing this? I know that I am the only one to have logged into these accounts. I have to change this so that I am using the correct email moving forward but it is simply not allowing me even though I have deleted the first account associated with the email. Any and all help is appreciated. 🙂

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome. 

 

In this case, we'd like to add some insights. Keep in mind that to be able to use the same email address on a different Spotify account, you'll need to wait 14–30 days from deletion for it to clear from the old account. You'll also have a 7-day period to recover the account in case you change your mind. After that, it'll not be possible to recover the account by any means.

 

If you close the account recently, take into account you'll need to wait at least 14 days to try and use the email address on another account. If 14 days haven't passed yet, it's expected to see the error you mentioned above. We'd recommend you check the date in which you received the confirmation email to close the account, to be able to count down the minimum days to try again. 


If this behavior persists after 30 days of the closure of the aforementioned account, we'd suggest getting in touch with our Customer Support team, so they can help you double-check the accounts more thoroughly. You can find out how to contact them here.

I had two spotify accounts one with my personal email and the other with my school email, I wanted to change the one with my school email to my personal email so i deleted my account with my personal email, I waited seven day to try again but it still won't let me change it 

 

Hello, it has been more than 30 days since I deleted my Spotify account, and it is still there.
I want to create a new one using the same email.
