Hi, new to this, how do I delete tracks from my library??
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hey!
Welcome to the community ๐
If you are talking about local tracks, then the easiest way to delete them is to press the "Local Files" tab in the left hand column, and then you can delete them from your library by right clicking and pressing delete. This will not remove them from your computer, if you want to do that you will need to right click and press "Open Containing Folder" and then you can delete them in the normal way inside Windows Explorer.
If you want to remove tracks from a playlist, you can just right click and press delete, or highlight and press the delete key on your keyboard.

I'm sorry but common logic does not apply. Right click and delete is not an option if you want to delete a track from the play queue (or at least for me, as the delete selection is grey and not active). How to delete and re-arrange the play queue is the question. Any answers?

Hey ๐
The grey text tracks in the play queue are from the currently active playlist (its shown at the top of the play queue) and that part of the play queue is not editable. So if you are listening to a playlist on shuffle for example, you will see all of the tracks in the playlist, in a random order in the play queue. It is only possible to move/delete tracks that appear in yellow in the play queue, since those are ones you have manually queued.
The idea for making the entire play queue editable is over on the Ideas Exchange here if you want to add your support there.

I'm having the same problem. Up until a few weeks ago, I was able to delete a track off of my playlist but the option is no longer available to me. I went ahead and deleted the local file, however, the song(s) still show up on my playlist. Did something change?

Are you trying to delete from a playlist or your play queue?

Playlist
Strange, what platform are you using?
You should definitely be able to remove tracks on all platforms.

Im using a MAC. Spotify is a free account. This is really aggravating.
These tracks are in a playlist you created and not one you are following?
Yes, it was one I created.

Hi, I'm trying to delete multiple tracks from my spotify playlist. How is that done, can it even be done?
