I am sorry to hear about this. In this case, you may have to create a password to log in with your email address instead. You can do this by following these steps:
This means you don’t need to use the Google button to log in. You can enter your Google email address and the new password.

I tried that didnt work. Instead had me re log in w a new account. I have premium, just paid it, had a phone issue now im trying to reinstate my account on another device wont let me. Keeps saying the username doesn't exist when i saw it for myself. None of these articles have helped in retrieving my account. Worst part is there is no actual help. Something so simple gets more frustrating w every attempt, so what am i gonna do? Pay premium again? These issues of logging in under various methods is annoying.

My Question or Issue
After following advice from an older post ( https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/iOS-Using-spotify-on-older-unsupported-systems/m-p/... ) I managed to download an older version of Spotify onto the ipod described. I am unable to Log in however as when I punch in the same email and password which allows me to log in to Spotify on my phone and macbook a message claiming that "Your email and password combination does not match a Spotify account. Please try again" appears.
Might the fact that I am a member of a family plan and not the plans manager be the issue? Any help would be appreciated.
i have this exact same issue.
I'm having the same issues as well and when I contacted Spotify support they said that it got disabled due to security reasons and that they won't be able to reactivate it. I did nothing wrong that violated the Spotify TOS or did fraud I was just listening to music minding my own business. When I ask what the security reason was they just closed the chat.
