http://www.theverge.com/2012/11/15/3649068/spotify-browser-player-web-app
I just read this article on The Verge saying that a browser based Spotify player is being rolled-out today. I really hope this is true! If this is the case how do we sign up for it? I've been dying to use Spotify on my uni's computer clusters!
Solved! Go to Solution.
We know there are a few issues with the published/unpublished state and they are on the roadmap to solve. Hang fire, and sorry for any inconvenience!

Web version is unresponsive today...
Thank you for your response, Dan.
I know that the Web Player is in Beta, so I have confidence that you guys will work out this kink.
Web version working today, ads starting to roll out...
Well I must say that I really love the opportunity to login in and listen to my playlists etc are awesome! But I've discovered that only one of my computers has access to it. Is it some kind of restriction? Or is it suppose to be like this until release or public beta?
Due to I've just got my self a windows 8 rt based tablet I also want to play my stored music in spotify. And I thought it would be great to use the webbased one and just zoom in to the player it self.
You needed to click the link on the first page on each computer you wanted to use, I'm guessing it gave you a cookie which then allowed you to access to the web player. The link no longer seems to be active though.

yeah most probably i need that cookie for my tablet as well (if I want it to work). But it would be nice if it was account-based instead of cookie.
But like we say here in sweden "den som väntar på något gott, väntar aldrig för länge" 😉

I am yet to see or hear any ads, both on premium and free which is strange!

Hi mattrwolf - I can see you just upgraded to Premium less than an hour ago.
Have you tried signing out and signing back in with your 'mattrwolf' username and Spotify password?
That is correct, sorry not to clarify...I will try that next!

Hey mattrwolf - Thanks for the update!
I'm going to send you a direct email now so we can confirm a couple more details. You should receive that message shortly.
Hi everyone. Quick update regarding the beta version of the web player.
Users that upgrade to Unlimited/Premium may find they continue to receive ads for a few hours after the upgrade. This is just until the ad-system adjusts to the changes on your account.
Please note, this won't affect your other apps. Just the web player which, again, is still in beta.
The appropriate teams are already on the case. For now be assured the full service will come into swing shortly for you.
Though the beta through the browser worked fine for me before, I'm not able to open it anymore. I get "Sorry, couldn't find that." error page when i navigate to https://play.spotify.com/home/.
