reset password on family account for associated account

reset password on family account for associated account

I have a family account. My son (not an adult) has an account under this. He had trouble logging into his account, and being impatient created another account (free plan) under their same email address. Once realizing that the new account didn't allow downloading, he closed the account. Now his primary account will neither log in nor change the password (email for forgot password never comes). I can still see the account as active under the family plan.

Basically- what are my options here? I do not want them to lose all of their playlists or saved songs. Is there an option to reset password via the master account?

Hey @riaedens,

Thanks for coming to the Community.

If he was able to create a new account under his email address, it means that there was no other Spotify account associated with it, so it's possible that his actual account is linked with a different email address. 🙂

He can try following this FAQ article to locate his account: https://community.spotify.com/t5/FAQs/You-can-find-out-if-you-have-another-Spotify-account/ta-p/4737....

Let me know how it goes!

Note: I'm not a Spotify employee.

This is the same problem I have. And I can't change a familymembers email adress either. So when no reset link comes to the email (spamfilter checked, and it's not there), what then to do? Playlist is lost?
