My Question or Issue
My problem is shown in my screenshot. Yesterday, the Spotify option still had a 15 seconds forward and 15 seconds back button instead of the skip buttons. But I didn't change anything. As I mainly listen to Spotify for podcasts, the 15 seconds would be much better. But I don't know how I can change this. And I can't find the option in the "Playback" settings.
Hi there @USER2604,
Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!
Can you try tapping on the clock while on lock screen to check if more options appear in the Spotify widget? If you're using a Xiaomi theme, it's also worth removing it to see if that helps. Another thing you can try is to go to Lock Screen settings, then Always On Display and toggle on "Show music info" under the clock settings.
Let us know how it goes.
I'm guessing a recent update has made this happen on my Oppo Android. Any suggestions on how to change it back?
Hey there @jt120,
Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.
Just to confirm, have you tried the steps @Dessi sent previously?
If so, we'd recommend logging out and then logging back in to your account twice in a row. This will trigger a sync between your account and device.
If it doesn't do the trick, it's well worth running a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.
Keep us posted on how it goes.
Thanks Eni.
I did attempt the suggestions from Dessi, but the options don't appear the same on the Oppo it seems. I have also followed the steps for the clean reinstall, but the same thing is happening sadly.
Do you have any other suggestions that I can try?
Hey @jt120,
Thanks for the reply!
Does this only happen with the widget on lock screen or are the 15 seconds back and forward buttons within the app replaced as well? I also found this article on how to enable music info on Oppo, so give that a try and let us know if it worked.
Keep us posted.
Hey Dessi,
Correct it is only the lock screen that is the issue. The widget and the app are working as it used too with the 15 seconds rewind/fast forward (shown below in images).
The "Always On" screen feature does allow for a rewind, but not fast forward option, so not quite solving the issue, but thanks for the link - I wasn't aware of this previously.
Fo me it happened the opposite with my Android. It was showing the 15 seconds rewind/forward on the widget, but not on the app main screen. Also, when I control using my earphones, it only goes back to the beginning of the episode or skip to the next one.
(The clock icon for Timer settings also had disappeared)
Thankfully, it was fixed after I updated the app in the Play Store.
The 15 seconds rewind/forward option it's great for the overall experience when I'm listening to a podcast.
If someone from Spotify UX Team read this 😁
It would be great to have an easy option to play audio only while streaming the podcast.
I mean something like a TV Icon, like we have the clock icon. Something simple, not hidden in the settings page.
Thanks
