[Andriod] Thumb up and down is sticky for all next songs

[Andriod] Thumb up and down is sticky for all next songs

I'm experiencing a bit of an odd problem with the Radio feature, more in specific the behavior of the thumb up / down buttons in the Android app.

Scenario:

  1. Pick a song
  2. Go to Song Radio
  3. Play Radio
    => Music starts playing
  4. Tap on the lower panel, opening the Album view of the song
==> This is where the thumb up / down button is shown
  5. Suppose I like the song, I hit the thumb up icon£
==> It shows Improving station, and the thumb up icon becomes green
  6. Let the song play till the end, the next song starts
  7. For this new song, the thumb up icon is already green
==> I had not prevously gave the song a thumb up or down
  8. Tab the back button on my phone
==> This goes back to the Song Radio window, music continues to play
  9. Tap on the lower panel again, opening the Album view of the current song
==> The thumb up / down buttons are both grey again

Step 7 versus 9 indicates to me that there's something going wrong between 6 and 7. When the new song starts to play, the thumb up / down buttons should be grey again, instead of the app continuing to highly the previously choosen up / down rating.

Note: this problem happens for both thumb up and down.

Hi and thanks for your excellent post. I followed your steps but couldn't reproduce this issue. Can I suggest you try a reinstall following all the steps in this post and see if it fixes things?

As time went by, this feature still ain't working for me. I'm still facing the same problem after several upgrades and clean installs on my OnePlus 3. Further more, I broke my screen so I'm sending it in for repair.

In the meantime, I'm switching temporarily back to a backup phone of a friend:
