Android 7 upgrade - No media info on Bluetooth

Android 7 upgrade - No media info on Bluetooth

After upgrading my Sony Xperia Z5 to Android 7.0

The music info stopped appearing on my car stereo via Bluetooth. I'm not even able to skip songs with the steering wheel controls.

Any one else having this same issue?

Hello there,

You can try to reinstall Spotify:

  1. From the Android home screen, tap Settings > Apps.
  2. Find Spotify in your list of apps, tap it. For older Android devices, navigate to Settings > Applications > Manage applications.
  3. Tap Clear Data. If you're using Android 6.0+, tap Storage > Clear Data
  4. Tap Uninstall.
For a clean reinstall, go to Storage > Android > Data and delete a folder called com.spotify.music
  5. Open Google Play then search for and install the Spotify Music app.

I tried to uninstall Spotify from my phone but i did not help. I even tried the same whit my car connection.

Now it is at least 3 differrent post whit the same topic.

Why doesn't Spotify care?

I have a feeling it's an Android issue rather than a Spotify one.

Same issue with ZTE Axon 7 after the recent official update to android 7.
My car HU is Pioneer AVH-X2850BT.
it was working good before the update.

Same issue with Sony Xperia XZ and Golf 7. Very frustrating.

Just updated my phone with Android 7.1.1

It doesn't fix the issue.

I miss Android 6. I was able to skip with it and i had songs titles.

If there's no fix, i think i'll stop my premium account and try Deezer. I've this issue since 3 months, it's too long.

Same here. Upgraded last night and test it this morning. The upgrade didn't fix the issue

=== START OF TEMPLATE ===

Brief description of the issue:

Since android 7 upgrade, it's not possible to skip tracks anymore with bluetooth devices and to see songs information (singer/title)

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. First I did this: connect A2DP audio Car system - impossible to skip and to see tracks
  2. Then I did that: connect my bluetoooth headset - impossible to skip tracks
  3. I also did this: connect my smartwatch - impossible to skip tracks
  4. The only command who works with all devices is "volume + -"

What steps you’ve tried already:

- Empty the cache

- uninstalling Spotify upgrade - there is no way to uninstall spotify on my smartphone (spotify is native on Xperia XZ)

- re installing all

- Forgetting bluetooth devices and reinstalling

- "Allowed all" in bluetooth config

- "allowed all" in spotify config

Your device and operating system (e.g. Samsung Galaxy 4, 5.1.1)

Hello,

I am also affected by the problem. 😞

Are there any new news about that?

Is there any information when it will be fixed ? (next update?)

How do you deal with the problem?

Best Regards

I bought a Samsung S7 and the problem disappeared, so while I was a fan of
Sony I can't buy their phone if I can't listen to my music in my car.
