Hey @tweeres04,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

Do you have Offline mode turned on or off in the app? In other words, are you able to use the app when you turn off all internet connections?

Keep us posted,

Cheers!

Hi Dian, Offline Mode is turned off

Hey @tweeres04,

Thanks for the reply.

If you don't turn the Offline mode on, the app will use your internet connection to stream the content. If you don't want this to happen, you'll have to turn on the offline mode. This way the app plays only the downloaded content without streaming.

Even if you play only titles you've downloaded and you use offline mode off, there is no guarantee, that the app will prefer streaming the content instead of playing the downloaded one. That's why it's best to always turn on the offline mode, whenever you don't want to stream from the net.

Hope this clears things a bit,

Cheers!

I think the perfect solution for me would be to be in offline mode when on cellular data, but online mode when on wifi. Is this a feature? Or is there something close to it?

Hey @tweeres04,

Thank you for keeping in contact.

Unfortunately, we don't have a feature for that yet as you need to manually turn on and off the offline mode in the mentioned situations. However, that's a good suggestion that other users may like.

In this case, we'd recommend posting it on out Idea Exchange board so it can be voted on and taken into account by the relevant team. More info on how your feedback reaches Spotify via the Idea Exchange can be found here.

Lastly, remember to keep in mind our guidelines to avoid any rejection.

In case you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to ask.
